In November 2021 Derek Gripper and Alexandre Gismonti have crossed continental distances in late Covid restrictions with a ton of additional required papers from South Africa and Brazil in order to meet us together in Lucerne, Switzerland and record new music from African, Brazilian and Balkan composers. We’ve met in November 2021 and instead of the music that we’ve discussed to play earlier we’ve recorded completely new and unplanned music inspired from our meeting in a beautiful house at the lake of Lucerne during a residency of 5 days. In exception we’ve kept one of the original composition of Alexandre Gismonti written in advance specially for our trio - track N° 10 entitled “Three Continents”.

The silence of the November lake, the night waves and wind, the myst on the cold water, our relation with Brazilian, African and Balkan music as well as our guitar arrangement and traduction on it had led us to symbiose this album into a flow of completely improvised self-transforming sounds and rhythms creating new music into a momentum captured by the fantastic sound engineer Paul Sissener.
